Bangkok, 20 March 2024 - Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin chaired the opening of STYLE Bangkok 2024, the largest international lifestyle, fashion, and design craft exhibition in Thailand, organised by the Department of International Trade Promotion in collaboration with the Board of Trade of Thailand, held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. Present at the event were the Minister of Interior (Mr Anutin Charnvirakul), the Deputy Minister of Commerce (Mr Napin Srisanpang), Secretary to the Prime Minister (Dr Prommin Lertsuridej), senior officials from the Ministries of Commerce and Interior, leading private sector representatives led by Mr Sanan Angubolkul, Chairman of the Board of Trade of Thailand, and Mr Pongsak Assakul, Senior Chairman of the Board of Trade of Thailand. Additionally, various trade associations, diplomatic missions, and trade representatives from various countries, as well as exhibitors from Thailand and abroad, participated in the event.

The Prime Minister emphasised the importance of the STYLE Bangkok event, stating, “STYLE Bangkok serves as a platform to promote and support exporters and SMEs at all levels, including local designers and entrepreneurs with potential to venture into the global market. This event is one of the government's strategies to promote the development of Thailand's soft power and a key mechanism to elevate Thailand to a crucial hub for trade in design-oriented products in the ASEAN region.”

The Prime Minister highlighted the lifestyle and fashion industry as a showcase of Thai potential, producing diverse products with creative ideas and playing a significant role in driving the country's economy. SMEs, the heart of the industry, account for over 90% and employ over 2 million people nationwide.

STYLE Bangkok fair also serves as a platform to promote and raise awareness among entrepreneurs and businesspeople alike in their path towards sustainable development. Addressing this aspect, the Prime Minister added “Thai entrepreneurs today are increasingly environmentally conscious and responsible, aligning with the government’s commitment to driving the country towards sustainable development goals, which are crucial foundations for the nation's economic growth promotion.”

STYLE Bangkok 2024, in its 7th edition, is organised by the Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, in collaboration with the Board of Trade of Thailand, and supported by the organising committee from 23 organisations. Taking place from 20 to 24 March 2024, at Halls 1-4, Level G, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, the event, held under ‘ChicNature’ theme aiming to promote Thailand as a centre for the production and trade of lifestyle and fashion products in the region, featured over 500 participating companies, 820 booths, and expected to attract over 30,000 visitors, the event is projected to generate immediate and one-year trade value of no less than 1.6 billion baht.

The highlight of the STYLE Bangkok 2024 event is the ‘Chic by Nature’ pavilion under the ‘Pha Thai Sai Hai Sanook,’ project following the royal initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana, aimed at conserving local heritage, promoting the Thai craftsmanship internationally.
