Thai toys have earned acceptance from global buyers for its quality and design, especially educational toys. At the STYLE Bangkok October 2019, organized by the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce during 17-21 October 2019 at BITEC, Bangna, waits for kids and young at heart to come play is the “T-Style: Big Toy Design 2019” zone. The zone aims to showcase the evolution of toys in the new era. In collaboration with the Thai Toy Industry Association, many projects have been formed to help promote and support the development of the industry via a series of toy development workshop, for instance, the “Big Toys 61+ what the Baby boomers play?” set to encourage the development and creation of toys for elderly.

When things are moving so fast around us, we tend to forget the risk of the dementia as we are ageing. Where the older generation has deterioration in memory, thinking, behavior and the ability to perform everyday activities, Toys could be their superhero’s protecting them from dementia. Toys for 60+ generation is an emerging market where new players showcase their creations. Nira Team presents the “Hit it Off” game that designed for multi players to take part. By hitting balls into a hole on connected boards that decorate in the ancient city style The game helps the elderly connect with other players through the game. “Tiew Lamai” by Len Len Team is a board game inspired by tourism in different regions of Thailand. This game is suitable for older generations as it helps stimulate the brain and unlock the memories of their favorite places or the locations that they had travelled to before. The “Hang Out” game by Young Kit Yoo Team is a portable game device that designed to encourage conversation and help the elderly to exchange knowledge and experiences simply by starting a conversation or start simple tasks with other game players.

Also featuring at the zone is the “Arch.Kid.Tech” by Taksa Toys Co., a block game that helps to inspire the learning of ancient architectural structures which has been around since the beginning of civilization. The game is not just fun but players will gain a historical knowledge as well. Wild Boars Rescuers by Tano Co Ltd., a board game inspired by the Wild Boars rescue mission. This strategic easy to play board game is designed to encourage problem-solving skills, rational usage, and ignite the imagination of the player.
