The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce, stylishly opened STYLE Bangkok April 2019 today (April 17, 2019) at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC).  Running until April 21, Thailand’s spectacular showcase of design products from over 900 companies, is successfully connecting buyers from over 70 countries with leading local creators and manufacturers of lifestyle products. The event is targeted to raise 2,000 million baht in purchase orders and revenues.

The fair’s official opening ceremony was chaired by Permanent Secretary for Commerce  Mr. Boonyarit Kalayanamit. Joining him were DITP’s Director General Ms. Banjongjitt Angsusingh and executives of supporting organizations from both the public and private sectors as well as members of the media corps.

The Commerce Ministry’s Permanent Secretary disclosed during the opening ceremony: “STYLE Bangkok is the successful result of an integrative attempt in bringing together three key international lifestyle trade fairs, namely, Bangkok International Fashion Fair and Bangkok International Leather Fair or BIFF&BIL; Bangkok International Gift Fair and Bangkok International Houseware Fair or BIG+BIH; and Thailand International Furniture Fair or TIFF, all of which have been held for more than twenty years. The merger of the three mega fairs offers convenience to all buyers in accessing widest kinds of the desired products under one roof,”

“The Ministry of Commerce has been working hard to foster the Thai economic development fairly and sustainably. To achieve this, we have promoted and lent support to a large number of entrepreneurs in all sectors as well as trained small business enterprises to develop their potential, while also arranging platforms for them to showcase their products. STYLE Bangkok Fair is unquestionably one of the key platforms through which the Ministry achieves its objectives in penetrating new markets for fashion and lifestyle sectors, providing a stage for entrepreneurs and expanding business globally,” Mr. Boonyarit reaffirmed.

DITP’s Director-General Banjongjitt meanwhile disclosed that: “STYLE Bangkok April 2019 edition has a thematic concept of ‘Crenovative Origin’ which is a direct reflection of the integrative attempt to combine creativity, innovation and originality of Thai identity into lifestyle products. One of the obvious distinctions that sets STYLE Bangkok apart from other trade fairs is exceptional product quality with a touch of creativity and modern design twist that stands out and radiates with unrivalled uniqueness of Thai craftsmanship – which is well-regarded internationally. DITP is committed to promoting STYLE Bangkok Fair as an international stage that connects all trading parties and propelling Thailand to become a production and trading hub for quality lifestyle products among ASEAN countries, Asia and beyond,”

“The trade show has brought together both Thai and overseas exhibitors including China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Ghana, Indonesia and CLMV countries. Moreover, the fact that over 90 per cent of exhibitors are from manufacturer side makes STYLE Bangkok Fair a unique stage that brings buyers to meet and negotiate with actual manufacturers instead of those down the line. It is anticipated that more than 45,000 visitors from 70 different countries around the world will visit the fair,” she added.
