I ‘Food Safety’ is a global trend for consumers all over the world, so the ‘Food of Thailand’ exhibition will be conducted as a highlight of the THAIFEX – World of food ASIA 2008 event. The exhibition aims to demonstrate the capabilities of Thailand as the kitchen of the world, which can produce food products of international standard. Visitors will learn about food producing procedure in Thailand right from selection of raw materials to processing to export, as well as, its stringent disease control measures for major products such as shrimp, chicken, canned seafood, fruit and vegetables.
II‘Food Packaging’ presents outstanding design trends in the world of food.
This includes award-winning packaging designs from design contests
in 2007, and outstanding packaging designs
of designers who have been studying in Japan. Visitors can also benefit from special consultation service on packaging designs.
Halal Food Exhibition
This interesting exhibition presents Thai food products which have been ‘Halal’ certified, and promotes them to major Halal food importing countries. There is also a special consultation service on how to acquire the ‘Halal’ logo, as well as, how to set up a factory that is compliant with Halal standards in Southeast Asia and international Muslim communities.
Prof. Dr. Somchai Virunhaphol, Director of The Institute for Halal Food Standard of Thailand, stated that, “As part of the plan in steering Thailand to becoming the ‘Kitchen of the World’, we are well on our way to take the Thai Halal standard to reach international levels. With a total of 1.9 Billion Muslims around the world, and with more and more people becoming interested in hygienic food, the markets for Halal food are fast growing and are emerging very strongly.”
