Koelnmesse GmbH, the Department of Export Promotion and the Thai Chamber of Commerce will once again join hands in a private and public cooperation to organize and host the THAIFEX - World of Food Asia Event.
From 18 -22nd May 2005, THAIFEX - World of Food Asia will return to IMPACT, Bangkok. The Event will gather even more momentum and promises to be the best ever yet in Asia!
"THAIFEX - World of Food Asia" is positioned in Bangkok, Thailand - the geographical center of the ASEAN network.
The ASEAN's trade performance is growing continuously: For 2002 to 2003, total ASEAN exports registered a growth rate of more than 12%, i.e. from US$ 384 billion in 2002 to US$ 431 billion in 2003. On the other hand, the total ASEAN imports increased by nearly 10%, i.e. from US$ 328 billion in 2002 to US$ 360 billion in 2003.
Apart from these ASEAN relations the member countries of this union are establishing Free Trade Areas (FTA) on bilateral basis. One of the last positive notes on this was the FTA agreement between Thailand and India.
