Logistics Model
The objective of Logistics Model Contest is to encourage local Thai manufacturers, exporters and service providers realize the importance of efficient logistics management, In other words, the activity will help promote Thai logistics business to be able to response the market’s demand, and boost the potentiality of Thai entrepreneurs in the international trade to cover greater area in the world market place
The competition is divided into 2 categories.
1. The producers /exporters category will be categorized according to their industrial types and sizes as follow :
Logistics management for exported food and agricultural products such as cereal products (rice, corn), perishable goods (fruits and vegetables, flowers) and other products (frozen food, processed food etc.)
Logistics management for exported industrial products i.e. electronics, automobile and spare parts, fashion goods.
Logistics management for small business exports i.e. processed food, furniture and home decorating products.
2. The logistics services provider category are integrated logistics, international transportation service, freight forwarders, customs brokers and international warehouse / container freight station / ICD
The Competition criteria include considerations on the ability to lower cost, punctuality, flexibility, safety, reliability, competitiveness as well as inventive techniques, concepts and good governance. Contest products are must be original invention, practical in real life and assessable.
 
 
Logistics Symposium ASEAN Logistics Networks
This year’s logistics symposium of the year 2008 will reflect the outstanding issues affecting logistics services providers and users in doing trade logistics activities in the ASEAN region and provider the platform for overseas and neighboring experts to share experiences and practices of trade logistics development in their economies. This symposium will enable ASEAN stakeholders comprising those from public, private and academic sectors to understand the underlying business implications of trade logistics and logistics infrastructure development in the region and how exporters, manufacturers, and logistics service providers can reduce cost while increase customer satisfaction.
The topics of the seminars are as follows.
1. ‘Logistics Implication of ASEAN Economic Community’, featuring speakers from Thailand and ASEAN
2. ‘Best Practices to improve logistics and supply chain efficiency region: agro-based product, rubber, electronics, automotive and textiles industries’, featuring speakers from Thailand and the European Union
3 ‘Understand  Distribution Strategies to Overseas Market’, featuring speakers from Belgium and Dubai
4. ‘Air Freight Center’, featuring speakers from the European Union
5. ‘International Trade Laws and Logistics Regulations’, featuring speakers from Thailand, the United States and the European Union
6. ‘Reserve Logistics and Return Logistics’, featuring speakers from Thailand and Singapore
7. ‘Empty Load Truck Management’
8. ‘RFID in Logistics: Trends and Tips  You Need to Know’, featuring a speaker from Australia
