The Bangkok International Gift Fair and Bangkok International Houseware Fair 2006 (BIG and BIH’06)
is scheduled for grandeur again this year from October 17-22, at Challenger Hall 1-3, Impact Convention and Exhibition Center, Muang Thong Thani.
Organized by the Department of Export Promotion, the Ministry of Commerce, the ultimate aim of BIG and BIH 2006 is to push Thailand the production and export center of gifts, souvenirs and home decorative items in Asian region. It also aims to increase competitive advantages of Thai exporters to be on par with international standard.
The event on October 17-20 is scheduled for trade day; and October 21-22 is scheduled for public day.
Mrs. Chantra Purnariksha, Director- General of the Department of Export Promotion, says highlight of this year’s event is the ‘Design Hall’ which will particularly display products with distinguished and eye-catching designs under the ‘Exquisite Living’ concept.
BIG&BIH Oct’06 has gained strong support from seven associations including Thai Gifts Premiums and Decorative Association, Thai Toy Industry Association, Thai Houseware Trade Association, Northern Handicrafts Manufacturers and Exporters Association, Thai Stationeries and Office Supplies Association, Manufacturers of Designed Products Association, and Home Decorative Design Association.
About 1,030 companies are expected to stage and exhibit their products in 2,500 booths at the fair. There will be areas for local exporters / manufacturers and traders or importers of oversea products. International participants invited to attend the event include the United States, Europe, Australia, Africa, and Asia.
The public day is open for both locals and foreigners.
