The Department of Export Promotion (DEP) recently launched a trade promotion program called ‘Thailand
Trade Mart Tour’ by taking a group of 70 international buyers to visit Jatujak Weekend Market, Jatujak Plaza
and JJ Mall on April 18. The activity was a part of the 25th Bangkok International Gift Fair 2008 and Bangkok
International Houseware Fair 2008 (BIG&BIH April 2008), held on April 17-22 at the Challenger, Impact,
Muang Thong Thani.

The foreign buyers participating in this program were from 14 countries around the globe such as Taiwan,
Singapore, Japan, India, Canada, U.S.A., Brazil, Spain and German. There was a 619,333 baht-worth on
spot order generated from trade negotiations during the tour, while a sum of 50.6 million baht was expected
to be produced from continual orders in a year. The products that attracted most interest among buyers were
gifts, Sa paper, scented candles, ceramics, etc.
