A. GENERAL QUESTIONS

A1. What is BIG&BIH all about?
BIG&BIH is an international trade show in gifts, household products and finely designed lifestyle goods.
The dual fair is held bi-yearly in April and October by the Department of Export Promotion (DEP),
Ministry of Commerce.

A2. When is the fair opened?
The fair is held on April 17-22, 2008 at Challenger Hall, IMPACT, Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi, Thailand. The first four days, April 17-20, are opened for trade visitors only during 10.00-18.00hrs. The last two days that fall on Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd are opened for public between 10.00-21.00hrs.

A3. What is new at the fair this year?
Apart from the latest collection of well crafted products to be presented at this year's BIG&BIH, the DEP's Office of Product Value Development and private sectors will launch a groundbreaking exhibition entitled 'Trend Pavilion' at this summer event. This newly launched zone will display creative and inspiring design trends by three of Thailand’s most avant-garde gurus in design, under the mutual concept “Love Earth”.
Product designer Suwan Kongkhunthien is expressing his passion for nature through the use of natural materials in home decoration. Interior designer Vitoon Kunalungkarn will demonstrate how you can add the touch of contemporary Thai to the modern, urban lifestyle. While fashion designer Chaichon Savantrat will show how fashion trends can influence the lifestyle of people.

A4.  What will be shown at the fair?
The fair features a vast variety of world-class quality products of contemporary
designs in eight categories:

  • Gift, Decorative Items and handicrafts
  • Home Textile and Fabric Decorative Items
  • Household Products
  • Toys and Games

    A5. How are the zoning divided?
    All exhibiting products will be presented as in the following zones:

    BIG Fair:
    Pure Pleasure -The area features unique and exquisite goods such as glassware, ceramics, pewter, metalware, paintings, lacquerware, mirror frames to garden accessories. Pure Pleasure also offers a variety of gifts and premium products with style and substance.

    Pure Earth -Pure Earth also displays the nonpareil beauty of artificial flowers and plants of diverse materials.

    Fun and Favorites -An extensive collection of Christmas decorative items, gift wrapping accessories and greeting cards are ready for your selection. Good quality of toys, game, stationary and office supplies are also exhibited in this area.

    Life Styling - Patterned home textiles and fabric decorative items such as bedspread, carpets and wall and window coverings will be exhibited in this area.

    BIH Fair:
    Heart and Home -A comprehensive range of household products, tableware and kitchenware of diverse materials from metal, ceramic, glass, melamine, pewter, plastic and wood will be on show.

    B.VISITOR’SINFORMATION

    B1. Do I need to pre-register to attend as a visitor?
    If you plan to attend the fair during trade days, we strongly encourage you to pre-register on our website
    to avoid long queue at the fair entrance.  However, walk-in visitors with business identifications can also register directly at the fair.

    B2. How much does it cost to attend the fair?
    There is no admission fee to attend the fair.

    B3. Who can attend?
    Anyone in gifts, premiums, home decoration, housewares industries and related business can attend the fair during trade days. However, it requires either pre-registration or on-site registration with no admission fee. On public days, all interested persons are welcome, no registration required.

    B4. Can I take photographs in the exhibit halls?
    Neither photograph nor VDO taking is allowed at the fair.
    Only persons with press badge can take photograph.

    B5. Can we buy goods at the fair?
    Sales of items are not allowed during the trade days which are reserved for business deals only.
    However, exhibitors may sell samples or inventory goods during public days.

    B6. Do you have the list of participating exhibitors of BIG&BIH April 2008?
    List of exhibitors and their products profiles are available on the fair official website: http://www.bigandbih.com/company_name.asp. You may view the exhibiting companies and their products information through this virtual trade show on internet in order to make pre-appointment for business talks. The listing will be more comprehensive when the fair is approaching.



    C. EXHIBITOR’S INFORMATION

    C1. Who are your visitors?
    Multi-national buyers, importers, manufacturers, traders, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, sale agents,
    department stores and retail outlets are targeted visitors. This year, we expect around 120,000 visitors to attend this six-days-long event. Among those, 17,000 will be from overseas - mainly U.S.A, Japan, ASEAN countries, and the EU.

    C2. Can overseas manufacturers exhibit at BIG&BIH?
    Yes, overseas exhibitors are welcome to participate in the fair. Please download the application form at
    http://www.bigandbih.com/application_form.asp and submit it to DEP,
    along with the payment and required information.

    C3. How much does it cost to exhibit at the fair?
    For overseas exhibitors, the participating fee for a raw space of 9 sq.m. (3x3m) is US$ 2,500.
    Exhibitors will get FREE one page advertisement in BIG&BIH Fair Directory and free online promotion
    on the fair’s website.
