Bangkok, Thailand - Amidst the hottest fashion happenings around the globe in September this year, the Bangkok International Fashion Fair (BIFF) and Bangkok International Leather Fair (BIL) will again be organized by the Thai government Department of Export Promotion (DEP) to showcase the latest trends, products and
services
in apparel, accessory and tannery fashion during September 27 - October 1, 2006.
With a strong following since its inception 22 years ago, BIFF and BIL events are now regarded as Asia's foremost sourcing and networking platform for both international and local fashion trade professionals.
Mrs. Chantra Purnariksha, Director-General, Department of Export Promotion revealed, "Following on the success and warm welcome" received at BIFF&BIL 2005 last year,
we foresee significant export growth for the Thai fashion and leather industries.
The Thai government's aggressive promotion of Thai designers and Thai made products
during the past years is rapidly establishing Thailand as Asia's fashion hub. The BIFF&BIL
2006 will be an event not to be missed for fashion trendsetters, who are looking for a
unique mix of high quality apparel, textile and leather fashion products and related services
under one roof. To compliment the range of fashion goods, we have also expanded our
fashion accessory space.

Responding to growing export demand for Thai designed
garment, leather goods and accessories worldwide,
BIFF&BIL 2006 will occupy the total space of 20,000 square
meters of the Bangkok Internation Trade & Exhibitors Center
(BITEC). "We believe that BIFF&BIL 2006 will be bigger and better than ever with an expectation of over 900 booths and more than 8,000 international trade visitors from Europe, USA, Middle East and, of course, our Asian neighbours",
Mrs, Chantra added.
According to the latest trade information report released by the Office of Export Service, the Department of Export Promotion foresees the Thai garment, textile and leather export industry to be worth US$ 8.8 billion by the end of 2006, representing a 12% growth from last year.
The industry export has already generated US$ 2.48 billion
during the first four months of this year, reflecting an
increase of about
4.17 % over the same period in 2005. |
