Thai Version

Thailand has long earned international recognition for its wide range of quality products and services. Goods from both agricultural and industrial sectors include processed and frozen food, agricultural products, electronics, electrical appliances, furniture, fashion garments and textiles, auto parts and accessories, etc. Thai service industries are also in great demand around the world such as Thai restaurants, Thai spas, healthcare, entertainment, and other content industries.

Over the past decades, Thai export has been a crucial factor and major contributor in accelerating Thailand’s economic growth. Between 2004-2006, an average increase in export was as high as 17.4 percent. For 2007, a rise of 12.5 percent is predicted. Strong projections for this trend in export growth indicate that Thailand will continue to enjoy economic stability in the years to come. Presently, the country’s main export markets are the USA, Japan, the European Union and ASEAN, while new markets include China, South Asia, Africa and Indochina.

56 OFFICES AROUND THE GLOBE
To assure that foreign traders have information accessibility, service and convenience necessary for importing Thai goods into their countries, the Department of Export Promotion of the Ministry of Commerce has established 56 Trade Promotion offices (Thai Trade Center/Office of Commercial Affairs) in every region across the world.

With efficient information technology system, DEP Worldwide Network (its 56 offices) provides comprehensive information on trade, trade statistics, import-export procedures/regulations, lists of Thai manufacturers, Thai exporters, overseas importers and other related information.

INTERNATIONAL  BUSINESS   DIRECTION
In striving for competitiveness in the international trade arena, Thailand is in its transitional period in repositioning itself from a manufacturing-based country to trading nation. In addition, a shift in focus is transforming Thailand into a major service trade provider and investor country.

In response to new approaches in international business, DEP Worldwide Network constantly seeks more opportunities by searching for trade partners, sourcing for materials, sub-contracting, recruiting sales  representatives, franchising, licensing as well as exploring potential joint ventures. With these objectives, the work of the DEP Worldwide Network in foreign countries will definitely be beneficial to both Thai and foreign businessmen.
